Chapter 13

Lincoln

Savannah Riley may just be the most amazing woman I’ve ever met. No, the most amazing person. What she did for that boy yesterday was simply…amazing. I can’t stop using that word but it’s the one that fits best: She. Is. Amazing.

The look on Michael’s face when he realized he would be able to have conversations with the cast after all was like a kid on Christmas. The look on his face when she’d given him the all-access pass and decided to hang with him all day? Like he just saw the sun for the first time. I’m fairly certain he fell in love with her before the day was done. Join the club, kid.

The only downside to the day was that now the media was in a frenzy about the mystery woman who was kissing Lincoln Ashmore at Gatorcon. Fans waiting in line hadn’t missed the swift goodbye kiss and had snapped plenty of photos, as had the con photographers, and everyone had been quick to start posting them all over social media. She’s taking it surprisingly well and so far, actually seeming more worried that I’d be upset that she’d outed us. Of course, it doesn’t bother me at all other than me worrying that it’s going to be too much for her. I’m not sure she can really be prepared for what the media might say and do. People say some pretty cruel things online without the slightest care for the person on the other side. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that anyone has been able to dig up any real information about her, so that’s a plus. For now, she’s just my unnamed blonde lady friend.

On the upside, the media had also gotten wind of her day with Michael and the heartwarming story was spreading like wildfire, taking at least part of the attention away from my relationship status.

We’re all hanging out in Drew’s suite when her phone rings. She grins before answering.

“Hey Tiff.”

“So apparently you’re the universe’s hottest good Samaritan and Lincoln Ashmore’s mystery kissing bandit. Can I get your autograph?” Savvy rolls her eyes and flips the camera off. “Seriously, you’re all over my feed today. Do you know how many of our friends have texted me asking if that’s you in the picture or not? Of course I tell them they’re nuts, playing the whole wouldn’t I know if my best friend were dating Lincoln Ashmore card—which is really going to hurt the street cred of our friendship when it comes out that you are, in fact, the one sucking face with him in those pictures you know.”

Savvy scrunches her nose. “I was not sucking face—” She cuts off when a bark sounds in the background. “Aw, how’s my boy?”

“Currently floating in the pool on his raft and living a life of luxury, of course.” Savvy giggles and I’m assuming Tiff panned the camera to show the golden mutt lounging in the pool. I laugh, picturing it. He has special doggy-proof floats and everything.
